7 months

My sweet boy is 7 months old today!
This past month has definitely been one of the most fun ages. Aside from him getting a nasty cold shortly after he turned 6 months, this has been a month of new skills, foods, and friends for Conall.

Some stats:
Height: 28"? Very difficult to measure a wiggle worm
Weight: 19lbs... whoa
Eye Color: Steely blue with specks of greenish brown
Hair Color: Blonde, sometimes it looks ashy and other times it has a reddish tint to it
Favorite toy: While he does love his Baby Einstein Jumperoo, he also loves just scooting around all over the floor. And he loves his teething toys as well.

Food: We started solids this past month, slowly introducing oatmeal for dinner. Then we added it to breakfast. Just this week we added veggies (peas). So now his schedule is: breakfast: oatmeal/nursing, mid-morning: nursing, lunch: veggies/nursing, afternoon: nursing, and dinner: oatmeal/nursing. When I first considered nursing him I figured I'd go for 6-7 months, but I'm not at all ready to give it up yet (and I don't think he is either). My goal is also to make his veggies/fruits. The peas were so easy to make and having them ready as ice cubes is so convenient!

Clothes size: mostly 9 months, but he doesn't have as many long sleeve onesies in that size. So for these cold spells he'll wear some 6 months warmer clothes (that are only slightly too short).

Diaper size: 3

Sleeps: Oh this past month has been horrible sleep-wise. His cold made for a couple of weeks of waking up every 3 hours. And then when he started feeling better but had a growth spurt for even more constant waking/nursing. After the growth spurt was teething. Last night was the first night in a month or more that I slept more than 4 hours straight- he slept from 8-11 then 11-6. He also is sleeping on his belly, by choice. I put him down on his back but he always turns around.

Other new things: He's started sitting in his stroller without his car seat. And he is getting better and better at sitting up by himself. He's much better at moving around than sitting by himself, but he's getting there. We've also started going to a new mommy group: Mops. Through Mops we've met a few other mommies and babies and have had a play date with a baby girl a month younger than Conall. He was so fascinated by her, but she was not having it!
